Judith LAPIERRE

LAPIERRE, Judith Dianne – surrounded by her loving family at her home on Sunday, March 23rd, 2014 in her 74th year.  Judith was called to her heavenly reward to be with her parents; father Danny Roy (1946) and her mother, Azilda Marie (2000).  She leaves behind her loving sister, Connie Van Ymeren of Port Burwell and the loves of her life, nephews Christopher (Shermar) of Toronto, Stephen of St. Thomas, his children Shaun & Auston; Corey Shaun of Calgary, AB, Todd of Toronto and by her darling niece Melissa Lockwood (Chris) of St. Thomas, as well as her precious, Shay Lee.  The joy of Judith’s life was her ability to teach students and teachers alike, having taught in various places throughout Ontario and the USA.  She worked with special needs students and served as a consultant, principal and instructor at various universities.  She came to this area in 1973 and worked diligently for the Norfolk Board of Education as well as for the Council for Exceptional Children and the Haldimand-Norfolk Literacy Council.  She had a great love for her faith and this love shone forth through her work with all who knew her.  In her retirement years, she served as a Social Director in Clermont, Florida, where she lived during the winter months.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Judith with her family at the St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church, Thompson Rd. Waterford on Friday, March 28th from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.  A memorial mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Alan Dufraimont as celebrant.  The JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe in care of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Leukemia Research in honour of her father or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in honour of her mother.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
