BERKEL, Edith & Art – suddenly as a result of an automobile accident on Saturday, July 3rd, 2010, both in their 80th year.  Loving parents of Pete (Carolyn) of Delta B.C., their children Jill Vanhuizen (Nathan), Sara & Nathan;  Ted (Darlene) of Simcoe, their children Mike, Paul, Tim & Grace;  Roger (Wilma) of Tillsonburg, their children Kristen (Jonas), Jenny, James & Danielle;  Marilyn Lobert (Richard) of Waterdown, their children Abby, Thomas & Andrew;  Don (Julie) of Simcoe, their children Alex, Carly & Drew;  Annette Vroom (Wayne) of Simcoe, their children Jaylene, Chad & Zack;  Brian (Marsha) of Jarvis, their children Hunter, Miles & Koen.  Proud great grandparents of Drew Vanhuizen.  Lovingly remembered by Edith’s brother John Dykstra (Jean) and by Art’s siblings Corinne Newell (late Joe), Rita Harmsen (Peter), Ruud (Carolyn), Pete (Nel), Emma Huurman (Arie), Nelma Lobee (Joop), Adrien (Joanne), & Annie Louwerse (late Wim).  Edith & Art are also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.  Predeceased by Art’s brothers, the late Dick (Cora) and the late Jake (Mary).  Friends are invited to share their memories with the family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe N3Y 3R3 for visitation on Tuesday, July 6th, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  A public graveside committal service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery on Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m.  Following the committal, a Memorial Service will take place at the Immanuel Christian Reformed Church, 95 Oak St., Simcoe at 11:00 a.m with Pastor Jeff Vandermeer officiating.  Those wishing to donate are asked to consider the Diabetes Association, the Children’s Wish Foundation or the Jarvis District Christian School.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
