Rev. Fr. Robert James Culver was embraced by the loving arms of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Monday, November 3, 2025, in his 89th year. Robert was the beloved husband of Rita Culver (née Thibeault). Together, they shared over 65 remarkable years. He was also the proud and loving father of Raymond (Kelly) of Bracebridge, Christine Grant (Rick) of Toronto, Frances Caruana (Randy) of Neenah, Wisconsin, and Joanne Cavasinni (Fernando) of Binbrook. Robert was the cherished grandpa (Peeps!) of Cassandra (Jason), Timothy (Meghan), Katie (Adrian), Madison, Sarah (Chad), Christopher (Jordan), Matthew, Isabella, and Daniel, and proud great-grandpa of Liam, Simon, James, Emerson, Chace, the late Eli, Carson, and Kayleigh. Dear brother of Carolyn Farr (Douglas) of Mississauga. Predeceased by his brothers John Culver and Karn Culver, and sisters Shirley Love, Kathryn Campbell, and Judy Culver. Robert was the son of William H. and Frances (nee Harrison) Culver of Front St. in Port Credit. He attended Riverview Public School and Port Credit Secondary School. He excelled in both academics (nothing but straight A’s) and athletics, a high jumping record holder. He obtained his CA designation and is a Life member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. Starting with Brunswick of Canada in 1965, after 34 years Robert succeeded to the position of Vice-President of Operations at Mercury Marine Limited. He was an incredible leader – honest and fair.; always encouraging, praising and motivating those he worked with. Robert achieved his lifetime calling when he was ordained to the Presbyterate, October 28, 2018 at St. Barnabas Anglican Mission Wilsonville, ON. Fr. Robert will be remembered for his quick Irish wit, quiet strength, devotion to family, and the kindness he extended to all who knew him. His faith was the foundation of his life, and his gentle spirit will continue to guide those he loved. Family and friends will be received at the Jason Smith Funeral Chapel, 689 Norfolk Street North, Simcoe on Friday, November 7th, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, November 8th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Culver-Collver Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow at the Waterford and District Lions Club Community Hall 53,West Church Street, Waterford. Those wishing to remember Fr.
