SAWAYA, Maureen Ann – promoted to the loving arms of her Lord & Saviour, Jesus Christ, as a result of a tragic accident on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025 in her 80th year.  Beloved wife of Mel Sawaya of Waterford.  Loving mother & cherished Teta of Lara Sawaya-Norman (David) of Renton, their children Blake & Samira; Nadia Sawaya Fehr (Tom) of Kingston, children Jude & Nora; and Thomas Sawaya (Teni) of Simcoe, their daughter Noushig.  Maureen will be sadly missed by her sisters Janet & Carol Whitehead, both of Simcoe.  Predeceased by her parents, the late Thomas & Annie Whitehead.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Maureen with her family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Sunday, October 19th, 2025 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.  A private family burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Waterford.  Maureen’s homegoing service will take place at Emmanuel Bible Church, 24 Churchill Circle, Simcoe on Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Andrew Bunner & David Taylor officiating.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Maureen are asked to consider Norfolk-Haldimand Community Hospice.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
