BROUGHTON, Leroy Lewis – promoted to the loving arms of his Lord & Saviour at the Peoplecare Delhi Long Term Care on Saturday, September 6th, 2025 in his 93rd year.  Beloved husband of Jean Broughton of Waterford.  Loving father of Glenn Broughton (June) of Waterford and Melody Slaght (Darrell) of LaSalette.  Cherished grandfather & great grandfather of Christopher Broughton;  Melissa Bessic (Mario), children Braeden & Katie; Mandy Hudson (Greg), daughter Piper; Melanie Howick (Mike), children Connor & Paige; Clinton Slaght (Kareston), children Kielle (fiancé Alex Ferguson) & Parker (Shannon), son Emmett;  and Garrett Slaght.  Leroy will be lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews & extended family.  Predeceased by his parents, the late Emmerson & Ada May Broughton and by brothers Wilfred & his twin Leross.  Leroy was a life-long mechanic and he & his business partner John Kirkwood owned and operated L & J Garage.  Leroy was a lifetime 75 year member of Bethel Baptist Church, an avid vegetable farmer and loved his time away hunting.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Leroy with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Tuesday, September 9th, 2025 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Leroy’s homegoing service will be held from Bethel Baptist Church, 4059 Hwy#3 East Simcoe on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Al Feere officiating.  Interment:  Greenwood Cemetery, Waterford at 2:00 p.m.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Leroy are asked to consider Key Bible Clubs or Bethel Baptist Church.
