COOK, Janet (nee Van Groningen) October 19,1955 - July 25, 2025 - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Janet Cook, who left us in her sleep on Friday, July 25th, 2025, surrounded by the love she so selflessly gave throughout her life.  Jan was the heart of our family — a woman whose kindness, generosity, and unwavering love touched everyone she met.  She had a quiet strength and a warmth that held us all together, offering comfort, laughter, and boundless support in every season of life.  She will be deeply missed by her devoted husband, Rob, and her beloved children, Jeremy (Melanie) and Joshua.  Jan was a proud and loving grandmother to Maddex, Owen, and Colin.  Jan is survived by her loving mother, Mary Van Groningen, and her siblings Diane Frankis (Joe), Gord Van Groningen, Henry Van Groningen (Rhonda), and Marsha Van Groningen.  Also survived by her sister in-laws Judy Cook, Lisa Cook (Don), and Jaquelin Cook (Carlos). She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom were blessed by her love and presence.  She was predeceased by her father Henk Van Groningen (1995), whose memory she carried with her always.  Jan’s life was a testament to the power of love, compassion, and family. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and the memories we will forever cherish.  A private family interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe.  A Celebration of Jan’s Life will be held on Friday, August 1st, 2025, from 2pm-5pm. at the Vittoria Community Center, 35 Oakes Blvd. Vittoria.  We will miss her dearly, but we are so grateful to have been loved by her.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Jan are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society.  Donations may be made through the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe N3Y 3R3.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com
