Monday July 14, 2025

CHIPMAN, Joanne Elizabeth - with deep sadness, we announce the passing of Joanne Elizabeth Chipman, who left us peacefully on July 14th, 2025, at the age of 63. Joanne was a long-time resident of Kitchener-Waterloo, and a beloved sister, daughter, aunt, and friend to many. She was predeceased by her parents, Waldon and Rita Chipman (nee Fetinko). She is lovingly remembered by her siblings Wally (Susan), David, Nancy and Richard (Sofia), as well as by her nieces and nephew. Joanne also shared a special bond with her dear friend, Christine Carter, whose constant love and support were unwavering. Joanne had a love of animals, a passion for music and travel, and a gift for friendship that brought joy to all those who knew her. She cherished journeys with old friends and delighted in meeting new people wherever life took her. Joanne was known not only for her kindness, generosity and compassion, but also for her unmistakable sense of humour. She could find laughter in the most difficult moments, and her ability to bring a smile to those around her was one of her greatest gifts. She approached every challenge with courage, perseverance and grace, and met the world with an open mind and a warm heart. Joanne’s memory will be held close by those who knew and loved her, and her legacy of empathy, resilience and laughter will continue to inspire. In keeping with Joanne’s wishes, no funeral service will take place. Those who wish to do so can donate to any animal rescue or charity of their choice in her memory. Arrangements entrusted to the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe, ON. Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
