Death Notices

PIETERS, Ryan William – suddenly at his home on Monday, July 7th, 2025 in his 29th year.  Beloved son of Dana Gortva (Mik) of Delhi and the late Edward Pieters (2015).  Cherished grandson of Betty Pieters (late Lucien) and the late Verlie & the late Robert Smith.  Predeceased by his great grandmother Christine Dicks.  Ryan will be lovingly remembered by Dana’s sisters, Amanda & Heather Smith, both of Newfoundland.  Sadly missed by Mik’s children Dylan (Kaileigh), Tyson & Chloee and by his girlfriend Dana Swanson.  Dear nephew of Mary Jane Kotewicz (Ted) of Burford & the late Brenda Pieters-Mohammed (2001).  Friends are invited to share their memories of Ryan with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Tuesday, July 15th, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  A private family graveside service will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Langton at a later date.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Ryan are asked to consider the Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus Association of Canada (SBHAC), the Kidney Foundation or St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
