Frank SCHWEDER
Saturday October 12, 2024

SCHWEDER, Frank - released eternally to waiting family members on Saturday, October 12th, 2024 in his 85th year. He is very much missed by his wife Janice (nee Kersey). Survived by siblings Annamarie (Larry Brandon); Gary; Margaret Brewer (Glen / late Doug Byers - 2014) and sister-in-law Linda Schweder (late Mike - 2016). Together with several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his birth parents Joseph (WWII) and Margit (2017) and step fathers Mike Schweder Sr. (1978) and Julius Englert (2011). Infant sister Maria in (1958). His parents-in-law, Charles and Laura Kersey, died tragically in a car crash at Bradshaw Corners in Haldimand in 1979. His brother-in-law, Lorne Kersey passed in 2014. Cherished memories of Elmo, his beloved German Shepherd. Frank was born in Hungary prior to his immigration to Canada in 1954. And his strong work ethic came from working in the tobacco industry with his family members. He loved the outdoors with his wheel barrow, chain saw and wood splitter at hand. He enjoyed gatherings of family and friends and the music of Elvis Presley. He was a loyal supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays and he was an avid soccer player as a youth. Always ready for another travel excursion or a stop at Tim Hortons. And his special group of nurses at Norview knew that a banana would usually get his attention as his appetite declined. He was quiet in nature but never missed a word of any conversation. His prize possession of his younger years was the 1971 GTO Judge with 455 engine that was a special order from the Simcoe GM dealership. Many houses, shopping malls, hospitals and other buildings throughout our region have the precise markings of his trowel and bricklaying skills. A private family visitation was held at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe followed by a private burial at Hagersville Union Cemetery. Your continued support of the Alzheimer’s Society, Diabetes Association, local hospitals or long-term care homes would be Frank’s greatest wish.
