MacKENZIE, Nellie Anne (nee Yakimow) - passed away at the Cedarwood Village Nursing Home, Simcoe on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 in her 90th year.  Beloved wife of the late George MacKenzie (2010).  Loving mother of Pat Montrose (Bob) of Port Rowan, Richard MacKenzie (Lois) of Brampton and Roy MacKenzie (Caroline Duffy) of Delhi.  Predeceased by her infant children William (1955), Betty (1960) and Mary (1965).  Cherished grandmother & great grandmother of Bill (Nicole Moyer), sons Graeden & Gavin;  Val Norman (Brett), children Grace & Hunter; Alex (Tamara), sons Daniel, Timothy, Matthew & James;  Andrew (Jenna), son Jacob;  and Simon (Kaylie).  Lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews & extended family.  Predeceased by siblings Stella Clark (late Bill) and Walter Yakimow.  Nellie was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force and Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 79 Simcoe.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Nellie with her family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Friday, October 4th, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.  A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Mary Hyatt Gibbons officiating.  Cremation to follow.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Nellie are asked to consider the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to “write a letter to family or friend, just to brighten one’s day”.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
