HARVEY, Elizabeth "Liz" Nellie (née Suprun) - passed away on Friday, September 6th, 2024, in her 80th year, surrounded by those whom she loved most and who loved her deeply. Liz’s life was marked by a profound dedication to her family and community. She shared 59 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, the late Thomas "Tom" Harold Owen Harvey. Their deep bond was an inspiration to all who knew them, and Tom was no doubt waiting to welcome her with open arms. Born to the late Julian Suprun and Mary Kuchocki Martul (Walter), Liz was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her greatest pride and joy came from raising her children and being actively involved in the lives of her grandchildren. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Christopher (Constance), Gregory (Cheryl), and Kimberly Harris (Paul), all of Simcoe. Her grandchildren, Bryn Thomson (Lauren), Kennedy, Berkeley (Majeed), Staige, Liam, and Landon, along with her great-grandchildren, Anders and Cameron, brought immense joy to her life. Liz was a cherished sister to the late Alexander Suprun (1963), and to Steve and Tony Suprun, as well as a dear sister-in-law to Alice Beck (Warren) and Edith Van Dyk, both of Simcoe. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends. Her professional journey included work at Bank of Montreal, Simcoe Hydro, REMann Broker Real Estate, and Bob Gair Real Estate. Beyond her professional achievements, Liz gave generously of her time as a volunteer in the Norfolk community. She taught Sunday School and served as the Superintendent at First Baptist Church. Liz was also President of Elgin Ave Home and School, and volunteered with the Canadian Cancer Society, serving as the Day Convenor for the Daffodil Brunch for several years. She also devoted substantial time to Elections Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Simcoe Lions Club. Also a longstanding member of the WIN Club. Liz loved travelling with her family, and sharing in special moments with her children and grandchildren. She was kind to everyone she met, and left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She believed anything worth doing is worth doing right, and strived for perfection in all she did. She instilled many valuable lessons on those around her. Liz’s legacy of love, service, and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew her. Friends and family are invited to share their memories of Liz with her family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North, Simcoe, for visitation on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church, 129 Young St., Simcoe on Wednesday, September 11th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Darrell Maguire officiating, and Prayer by Bruce Coombe.
