McCANN, J. Bruce – it is with profound sadness after a brief illness that we announce the passing of a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather John Bruce McCann UE (better known as Bruce to most) on Thursday, May 16th, 2024 peacefully days before his 84th birthday.  Bruce is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 62 years Louise (nee Anderson) of Port Dover.  His children Christine Haight (Darcy) of Sundridge and Carolyn McNeil (Scott) of North Delta, BC.  Loving papa to Daryn, Madison (Bradyn) & Brogan and newly great grampa to Beau.  Brother to Elizabeth Gail and brother-in-law to Sharon Lewis (Joe).  Uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Friend to many.  He was always willing to lend a hand.  His sense of humour was priceless and enjoyed by us all.  Wood working was his passion and he spent many hours in the basement perfecting his craft and giving it away for all of us to enjoy.  He was a proud Loyalist.  He was fascinated with his family tree and spent many hours looking up and documenting information for his family to have and carry on.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Bruce with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.  A memorial service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ted Smith officiating.
