MARTENS, Lambertha Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Veenstra) - promoted to the loving arms of her Lord & Saviour at her home on Sunday, March 17th, 2024 in her 71st year.  Beloved wife of Al Martens of Simcoe.  Loving mother & grandmother of Alison O’Leary (Dave) of Phelpston, their daughter Alexandra;  Kevin Martens (Rachel) of Branchton, their children Tessa, Quintin & Reese; and Rob Martens (Laura) of Winnipeg.  Dear sister to John Veenstra (Edith) of Calgary.  Lovingly remembered by her brother-in-law Don Johnston of Etobicoke and by several nieces, nephews & extended family.  Predeceased by her sister Clare Veenstra-Johnston (2023).  Friends are invited to share their memories of Betty with her family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Thursday, March 21st, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.  A funeral service will be held at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church, 95 Oak St. Simcoe on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Norman Sennema officiating.  Interment:  Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Betty are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Society of H-N or the Simcoe Caring Cupboard.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
