COOPER, George Thompson – formerly of Simcoe, passed away at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, Dunnville on Thursday, January 4th, 2024 in his 95th year.  Predeceased by his wives Betty Cooper (nee Carpenter) and Beth Cooper (nee Campbell).  Cherished companion of Muriel Calder (nee Bower) of Cayuga.  Loving father of Barb Mayer & Brenda Cooper, both of Simcoe.  Dear grandfather, great grandfather & great great grandfather of Marty (Jody), son Matthew;  Daniel, his children Keiana & Braeden (Justina), and their son Duncan.  Sadly missed by his sister Judy Near (late Bob) of Simcoe.  Predeceased by his sister Suzelle Moulton (late Gary).  George will be lovingly remembered by Muriel’s children, Joan Little (Jerry), Richard Calder (Sharon), Sue Racher (Steven) and Steven Calder (Karen) & their families.  Dearly missed by nieces, nephews & extended family.  Friends are invited to share their memories of George with his family at JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Monday, January 8th, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.  A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Al Feere officiating.  Interment:  Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe.  Those wishing to donate in memory of George are asked to consider Simcoe & District Humane Society.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
