EVANS, Melvin Douglas – Promoted to glory, surrounded by his loving family at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024 in his 83rd year.  Beloved husband of Lois Evans (nee Fretz) of Simcoe.  Loving father of Sherri Evans (Lee Ann Cotton) of Port Dover and Marty Evans of Delhi.  Adoring grandpa & great grandpa to Brittany (Craig), children Grace & Barrett, Kara (Andrew) & Madylan.  Mel will be dearly missed by his beloved sister Donna Hoover (Lea) of Manotick.  Predeceased by his brother Ralph Evans (late Joyce).  Fondly remembered by Dee Young, his nieces, nephews & extended family.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Mel at the Simcoe Gospel Chapel, 4152 Hwy#3 East Simcoe during visitation with his family on Wednesday, January 10th, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by a Home-Going Service in the church sanctuary at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Derrick Wilhelmus officiating.  Private interment of ashes at a later date.  The JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. N.
