Death Notices

VANHOOREN, Debra Ann (nee Westbrook) - after a long battle with Huntington’s Disease, Debbie passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, December 22nd, 2023 in her 59th year.  Debbie was a nurse for many years working at the Norfolk General Hospital and in local doctors’ offices.  She will be missed dearly by her children Kyle Vanhooren (Taylor Vigar) of Simcoe and Shanaya Vanhooren (Justin Riddell) of Waterford.  Sadly missed by nieces, nephews & extended family.  Debbie is predeceased by her parents, Leslie (2023) and Janet (2017) Westbrook, and by her brother Richard Westbrook (2018), and his wife Cindy.  A sincere thank you to her doctors and the dedicated nurses and PSW’s who spent long hours providing home care for Debbie. Thank you all.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Debbie with her family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Thursday, December 28th, 2023 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.  A memorial service will follow in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev.
