SZILAGYI, Maria Julia (nee Demeter) – surrounded by her loving family at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Saturday, September 30th, 2023 in her 93rd year.  Beloved wife of the late Frank Szilagyi (1997).  Loving mother of the late Fereke Szilagyi (1947), Maria Ariga (Koki) of Myrtle Beach, Eva Veerasammy (Dennis) of Brantford, Ildi Vangroningen of Simcoe and John Szilagyi of Toronto.  Cherished grandmother & great grandmother of Adriana, son Jiji; Tracey (Pablo), children Isa & Kitaro;  Dave (Denise); Jennifer; Jessica & Rabecca.  Lovingly remembered by her sister Erzsebet and predeceased by several siblings in Hungary.  A private family visitation was held at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe followed by the interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Maria are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
