MULLIN, J. “Ben” – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father John Benson “Ben” Mullin at the Norview Lodge, Simcoe on Monday, September 25th, 2023 in his 94th year.  Predeceased by his beloved wife of 68+ years, Mabel “Doris” Mullin (nee Daniel - 2019).  Loving father to Rick (Chris) of Port Dover and Rev. Ron (Lynn) of Simcoe.  Cherished grandfather to Jeff (Carrie), Tiffany Smith (Bryan), Rachel Luis (Fil), Sarah Neal (Steve) & the late Jason (2023).  Great grandfather to Javan & Lucas, Stella & Violet, Grace & Everly, and Soren.  Predeceased by his parents, Michael “Johnny” Mullin, Irene Attleberry (nee James) and by siblings Jim (Vi), Dolores Calliauw (Firmen), Bob (Mary), Bill (Ann) & Fran Deschamps (Noel).  Ben was an avid local sports figure in Simcoe having been involved in golf, hockey, baseball & hunting.  He worked most of his career at the American Can in Simcoe.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Ben with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Thursday, September 28th, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Stephen Kring officiating.  Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Ben are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Society of H-N.  The Mullin family would like to thank Norview Lodge for their outstanding care over the past number of years.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
