SMITH, Verna Mae June (nee Myke) – surrounded by her loving family at the John Noble Home, Brantford on Sunday, July 30th, 2023 in her 93rd year.  Beloved wife of the late Jack Smith (2010).  Loving mother of the late Lawrence Smith (2018), his wife Doris of Nova Scotia, Darlene Dewhirst (Michael) of Walsh and Debra Hiltz (Steve) of Princeton.  Cherished grandma & great grandma to George (Val), children Kole & Emma;  Trevor;  and Erin, children Hailey & Tyler.  Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews & extended family.  Predeceased by her siblings Ora McCombs, Isabelle Louks, Rose Myke, Walter, Michael, Lawrence, Gene & Charles Myke.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Verna with her family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Thursday, August 3rd, 2023 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.  A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ron Mullin officiating.  Private interment of ashes at a later date.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Verna are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Society of Haldimand-Norfolk or Purrfect Companions Animal Rescue.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
