FERGUSON, Debora Ann (nee Smith) – after a courageous battle with ALS, surrounded by her loving family at the Stedman Community Hospice, Brantford on Saturday, July 1st, 2023 in her 68th year.  Beloved wife of Bruce Ferguson of Simcoe.  Cherished daughter of Doreen Smith (late Gordon) of Port Rowan.  Loving mother & devoted grandmother of Jennifer Dietrich (Neil) of Kitchener, children Claira & Bryce;  and Jeffrey Ferguson of Simcoe.  Debora will be sadly missed by her sister Sandra Smith of Walsingham.  Lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews, close friends & extended family.  Predeceased by her infant brother Brian (1963), her sister Linda Vandeneeckhout (2011) and brother Gary Smith (2020).  Friends are invited to share their memories of Debora with her family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Thursday, July 6th, 2023 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.  A private memorial service will be held with interment of ashes at Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Debora are asked to consider Stedman Hospice or the Simcoe & District Humane Society.  Special thanks to the ALS team from McMaster University, staff of Stedman Hospice, Norfolk EMS, the many nurses, PSW’s, SLP’s, OT’s for all your compassion & support during mom’s journey.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
