Death Notices

PATHER, Bak - a beloved husband and father, passed away in the early morning of June 17th, 2023, surrounded by his family and loved ones.  Bak immigrated with his wife from Durban, South Africa and made Norfolk County home.  He led a life filled with love, compassion, hard work and dedication to his family and friends.  Bak had many passions; he loved sports, reading, education and keeping up with health sciences, technology, and the environment.  His loss is deeply mourned by all who had the privilege of knowing him.  Bak is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Vani Pather, a loving father to Kumeshan (Rachel) and Kerosha (Stephen), and loyal companion to their dog Haskell.  Private services have taken place.  In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make a donation in Bak's memory to the Brantford General Hospital, BCHS Foundation or the Norfolk General Hospital NGH Foundation.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com
