BROWN, Melva Dianne (nee Walsh) July 19, 1950 – April 3, 2023 - passed away peacefully at the Norfolk General Hospital on Monday, April 3rd, 2023 in her 73rd year.  Cherished wife and best friend of Steven Brown of Simcoe; and loving mother of Josh (Adriana) of Wellesley and Sarah du Preez (Pierre Charl) of Stanford, Western Cape, South Africa.  Cherished grandma of Asantawa, Madeline and Isla.  Predeceased by her parents Melvin and Gladys Walsh;  her two sisters Darlene (Pamplin) Barker and Sharon (Pamplin) Haig.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.   Melva’s mild, caring and always there to listen personality has earned four long term dear friends for the past 40+ to 60+ years.  She will be sadly missed by Nancy Hart, Pam Mather, Chris Ritchie and Sharon Slusarchuk.  After graduating from Simcoe Composite School, she went to work in the office at Caswell Dairy (now Breyers) until the arrival of her son Josh.  Her working career continued in later years before retirement as the office manager of Lisa Naves Dance Company.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Melva with her family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Tuesday, April 11th, 2023 between 6:00 & 8:00 p.m. only.  A private interment will take place at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate in memory of Melva are asked to consider the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
