Megan COUSINS
Wednesday February 15, 2023

COUSINS, Megan Lynn – gained her angel wings on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023 surrounded with love and music.  Cherished daughter of Shelley Cousins (her loving partner Greg Ferrell) and John Cousins.  Megan will be lovingly remembered by her aunt Lori Timpson (Kelly Moore) of BC, her great aunt Donna Kendall of Simcoe, her grandpa Norm Timpson of Simcoe and grandparents Jack & Carolyn Cousins of Simcoe.  Megan was predeceased by her nanna Lyn Timpson (2017) and grandma Janet “GJ” Ferrell (2021).  Megan was loved by so many people and her loss will be deeply felt by many friends, extended family members and in the community and around the world.  Megan loved music and has been surrounded by it even before birth.  In fact, she was very proud to be the “honorary band manager” of Route 6 in Port Dover.  Megan loved the water; she enjoyed her tub days, her pool in the backyard on warm sunny days, swimming with dolphins in Cuba and even dancing with her mom in the rain.  Megan always had a string of beads in her hands and she had them in every shade of pink imaginable.  Megan was sure a brave warrior and she fought so hard to be here and stay here.  Her strength, determination and the love we have for her will be what gets us through our devastating loss.  Special thanks to Megan’s medical family, the doctors, nurses and child life at McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton.  We are also so grateful for the doctors and nurses that were involved in Megan’s palliative home care, especially Fatima Henriques who after 22 years was not only a devoted nurse to Megan, she is family.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Megan with her family at the Sydenham Heritage United Church, 120 Sydenham St. Brantford for visitation on Friday, February 24th, 2023 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.  A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Paul Shepherd officiating.  Cremation has taken place.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Megan are asked to consider the McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation.  The JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe in care of arrangements.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199  “ Some people can only dream of angels, but we held one in our arms.”
