AWREY, Albert “Elgin” – surrounded by his family & his loved furry companion Maggie, at his home in Simcoe on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023 in his 81st year.  Beloved husband of Lois Awrey of Simcoe.  Loving father & grandfather of Louise Schebesch (Paul) of Simcoe, children Elton & Abbey;  Don Awrey (Christina) of Simcoe, children Terance (Kourtney), Brianne & Jessica Hanson (Cole);  Lisa Otterman (Dale Driver) of Simcoe, children Kyle, Cameron, Lauren, Jasmine & Brendan;  and David Awrey (Joan) of Simcoe, children Rylea & Megann.  Sadly missed by his siblings; Shirley Freeman (Edward) of Acton & Ross Awrey (Leona) of Simcoe.  Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and extended family.  A private family graveside service will be held followed by a celebration of life on Sunday, April 30th, 2023 at the Junior Farmer’s Building in Simcoe from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.  The JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe in care of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate in memory of Elgin are asked to consider our local Cancer Support & Resource Centre (csrp.ca) Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
