ABBOTT, Lawrence Edward - surrounded by loving family; promoted to the arms of his Lord & Saviour at his daughter’s home on Sunday, January 8th, 2023 in his 80th year.  Beloved husband of Jean Abbott of Brantford.  Loving father of Sherri McCormack (Rick) of Wilsonville and Laura Abbott (Ray Eivers) of Scotland.  Cherished “Poppy” and “Poppsy Woppsy” of Alesia McCormack (Jason Robbins), children Ella, Leila, Janea & Ritchie; Vanessa McCormack (Kevin McQuaid); Cecilia Eivers (Marcus Wisdom), daughters Marley & Maia; Brennan Eivers (Marissa Goulart); and Gabrielle Eivers.  Dear brother to Keith Abbott.  Predeceased by his parents, the late William & Ella Abbott.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Lawrence with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Friday, January 13th, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m.  Cremation will follow with a private interment of ashes at a later date.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Lawrence are asked to consider the Canadian Diabetes Association or Stedman Community Hospice.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
