MORRISON, Debbie (nee Watt) - Beloved wife, mother, nana, and friend, unexpectedly passed from this life on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022. She is survived by her husband Doug, children Matt (Korrina), Evan (Jocelyn), and Sarah (Tyler), her grandchildren Henry, Tanner, and Luna. Loving sister to David Watt (Sandy), Duane (Shelia), and Gary (Stella). Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Ralph and Eleanor Watt. Debbie was born and spent her life in Norfolk County. She was raised on a dairy farm in Waterford, and continued to embrace her roots, through her crowning as Dairy Princess in 1978-79, and in her work as a dairy educator with the Norfolk County Agriculture Society. She was a graduate of Waterford High School in 1978, studied Veterinary Technology at St. Clair College, and eventually went on to get her diploma in Nursing from Mohawk College in 1992. Debbie and her husband Doug, were proud tobacco farmers for 30 years. She was a devoted volunteer with the Norfolk County Fair, where she served as president in 2019 and 2020. Debbie was best known for her quick-witted humor, fierce determination, and generosity. She was a compassionate spirit whose dedication was caring for others and serving her community. Her smile and kind heart had the ability to light up every room she walked into. Her garden was meticulously crafted, and she always loved to tend to it. She loved to golf, travel the world, care for her grandchildren, and spend time with family and friends. Every life she touched was made better with her in it. She will be dearly missed. Friends are invited to share their memories of Debbie with her family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe on Monday, December 12th, 2022 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Eleanor Emmott officiating.
