WINGFIELD, Carole (nee Smith) - June 05, 1949 - November 26, 2022 -  It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Carole following her 5th open heart surgery.  She is now dancing in heaven with her best friend and husband, Peter Wingfield.  Beloved mother of Christopher (Olivia) Wingfield of Chamby, Switzerland and Stacey (Shane) Stuart of Lisbon, Portugal.  Dearest grandma of William, Oriana, Willow, Maya, Brynn and Kian.  Carole was predeceased by her mother Shirley Smith.  Carole will be greatly missed by her brother, Stephen (Terri) Smith of Ayr, sister-in-law, Jane White of Simcoe and sister-in-law, Kelly (Ron) McEachen of Parkhill.  Also grieving are many nieces and nephews and friends from around the world.  Carole was the first child survivor of open heart surgery in Canada.  She went on to survive many more surgeries, one leaving her without sight.  Not even her loss of sight could prevent her from living life to its fullest.  Carole loved to travel with her favourite companion, Pete.  She had an amazing sense of design, love of art and decor and was always the last to leave a party.  Carole had a strong will and an even stronger sense of humour.  She loved to laugh and found levity in even the most wearying challenges of life.  She has left a deep impression on all that encountered her, one that will not be lost or forgotten.  A private family gathering will be hosted at a later date.
