GAYTON, Patricia Penelope Ann “Penny” (1943-2022) passed away peacefully at Stedman Hospice, Brantford on July 23, 2022 after a 16 month battle with cancer.  Beloved wife of Neal Gayton for 43 years.  Predeceased by parents John and Edna Finn and brother Michael, all of Frome, Somerset, England.  Proud mother of Ruth Bice (Ken), Andrew Gayton, Ann Green (Tony) and Christine Oliveira (Roger).  Proud Grandmother to Devon and Kirk Bice, Adam, Late Andrew and Alex Green and Paige McKee, Xandre, Chelsea and Ainsley Oliveira and great-grandmother to Gregor and Theodore Bice. Also survived by niece Natalie Finn of Frome, Somerset, England.  The family would like to thank all the healthcare professionals who have participated compassionately in Penny’s care.  These include doctors and nurses at Juravinski Cancer Centre and Norfolk General Hospital E.R., Dr. Natalie McConnell, Community Care Partners and Stedman Hospice.  “ You have all helped to make this journey bearable for all of us”.  Cremation has taken place.  Arrangements entrusted to the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Penny are asked to consider the Stedman Hospice.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
