Jeremy GILCHRIST

GILCHRIST, Jeremy Alexander (1991-2022) – suddenly at his home on Sunday, July 10th, 2022 in his 32nd year.  Cherished son of Kathleen “Kathie” Gilchrist (nee O’Mahony) of Simcoe and Richard “John” Welsford Gilchrist of Simcoe.  Loving brother & uncle to Greg Doucette of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, his daughter Sophie;  Josh Gilchrist (Melina Ritchie) of Port Dover, his children Jackson & Milo;  Jesse Gilchrist (fiancée McKenzie Pelling) of Walsh, children Jayce, Lucan & Scarlet;  and Kirsten Gilchrist (Evan Walsh) of Delhi.  Dear grandson of the late Edwin (2008) & Betty (1995) O’Mahony and Katherine “Kitty” Cebulak (Fred) and the late John Welsford Gilchrist (1972).  Lovingly remembered by his friend Trisia Akey of Delhi and by aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family & many friends.  Jeremy, “Little Bear” loved life.  He had a kind soul and gave the biggest “bear” hugs.  After attending high school at Holy Trinity, Jeremy furthered his education at Niagara College studying culinary arts.  After working as a chef, Jeremy changed his career path to Toyotetsu and then again to APC Auto Parts, Simcoe.  Growing up, “Bear” played hockey & soccer.  He was usually the biggest kid on the team and received many penalties for not stopping (but couldn’t) running into players or the boards.  Bear loved dirt biking & riding his Harley.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Jeremy with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North  Simcoe, ON for visitation on Monday, July 18th, 2022 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 211 Union St. Simcoe on Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr.
