Cheryl MORROW
Sunday June 19, 2022

MORROW, Cheryl Jean – born February 23, 1955 in Shoreham-By-Sea, England, lived much of her life in Simcoe, Ontario, passed away peacefully at the age of 67, June 19th 2022 at Norfolk General Hospital surrounded by her family.  She spent the last four months of her life there trying to recover from a diffused brain injury and other illnesses.  She leaves behind her son Michael Stitt (from her first marriage to Gordon) and a daughter, Shannon, from her second marriage to Robert Bruce Morrow who pre-deceased her due to complications with ALS.  She had another son Kevin Stitt, who passed away in 2011 as a result of a road accident.  She also leaves behind a daughter-in-law, Amber (Kevin’s wife) and three granddaughters, Samantha, Alexandria and Klara.  Lovingly remembered by her sister, Susan Muir, and many nephews and nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces.  She loved her pets very much – five cats and a dog who brightened her days in the hospital. She had few friends but those she had she cared for a great deal. Not to mention the numerous amounts of students lives she touched in her many years as a volunteer at Elgin Ave Public School, of whom would always remember Cheryl for her firm stare over her glasses, huge heart and her outstanding compassion for learning and helping those to learn. She would always love the fond goodbyes at the end of the day from her students with a “See you tomorrow, Mrs. Morrow”.  We would also like to thank Dr. Robin Martin-Godelie and Dr. Timothy Bard, the Respiratory Therapists, and the many nurses who took part in Cheryl’s care at the hospital.  They all did an exceptionally amazing job at not only caring for Cheryl, but for taking the time to get to know her and laughing with her as well.  A celebration of life will be held in August, those who wish to attend are welcome but as per Cheryl’s request Hawaiian shirts/bright colours are mandatory and party music will be had. “It’s a celebration and a celebration you shall have.”   Details will be provided at a later date in the Simcoe Reformer and shared on social media by daughter Shannon.  For those wishing to donate in Cheryl’s memory, please consider the Diabetes Association of Canada or the Simcoe & District Humane Society.  Arrangements entrusted to the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe, ON  N3Y 3R3.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com  (519) 426-0199
