Mike BROWN

BROWN, W. Michael “Mike” (July 14, 1949 – May 23, 2022) – loving, supportive husband and best friend to his wife Nancy Brown for over 38 years.  Brother to David Brown, uncle to Mackenzie (David) and great uncle to their newborn Madeline Charlie Noble; Brother to Gary Brown and uncle to Kirstyn Brown, brother-in-law to Paul & Julie Reynolds and uncle to their children Kyle & Christopher.  Predeceased by his parents Grover and Carolyn Brown and their infant son Ricky.  Mike enjoyed playing his horn the Solo Suprano in the Royal Blues Drum and Bugle Corps, 2 time Canadian Champions formed in 1966 that reunited in July 1999 as the United Alumni Corp.  Mike attended Lambton College in Sarnia where he studied Journalism.  After leaving Sprucedale, he followed his passion to Hamilton where he eventually opened his own advertising firm.  One of his major clients, Fortinos Supermarkets is still known as “The Supermarket with a Heart”, that was Mike’s creative thinking.  In 1981, Mike returned to Simcoe where he joined his brother David, becoming a partner in Royal LePage Brown Realty.  He served an unprecedented 6 times as the President of the Simcoe and District Real Estate Board.  In summer months he enjoyed golfing while in winter, curling.  Mike was a member at large of the Simcoe Lions Club and on the executive of the Alzheimer’s Society of Haldimand-Norfolk where he co-chaired their annual golf tournament for many years.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Mike with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe N3Y 3R3 for visitation on Thursday, June 2nd, 2022 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.  A memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m.  Refreshments will immediately follow the service at the Norfolk Golf & Country Club, 200 Argyle St. Simcoe.  Nancy would like to extend a special thanks to doctor’s Evans, Kumanovski and Nass and the amazing nurses of the ICU and 4th floor at the Norfolk General Hospital.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of H-N or the Who Did It Club.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
