Death Notices

LANE, Robert Norman - passed away at his home on Monday, April 25th, 2022 at the age of 69.  Loving and proud father of Adam Lane (Lauren) & Mark Lane, all of Ottawa.  Cherished son of Iris Lane (late Norman) of Simcoe.  Lovingly remembered by his siblings Terri Roy (late Rob) of Delhi and Kathy Laporte of Ottawa.  Robert will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews & extended family.  Bob loved the outdoors particularly biking, boating, walking the beach and hiking the trails along Long Point and Backus Woods.  He was a talented musician and enjoyed bringing new life into old found objects.  He lived life the way it is meant to be lived and looked forward to the adventures of each new day.  He always had a smile and a story to tell for anyone fortunate enough to meet with him.  A memorial visitation & service will be announced at a later date.  The JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe N3Y 3R3 in care of arrangements.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Robert are asked to consider the Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
