Death Notices

BICKNELL, Wayne Douglas – passed away at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022 in his 73rd year.  Wayne loved reading newspapers and watching sports, especially golf & the Toronto Maple Leafs.  He was an avid walker & walked everywhere.  He was also a trickster and loved to play tricks on his sister.  He was a former employee of the Canadian Canners in Simcoe until it closed.  Wayne is the beloved son of late Alice & Robert Dickinson.  He will be sadly missed by his sister Marlene Steele, brother-in-law Vincent Beemer, niece Christina Ferreira (Tony), cousins, aunts & extended family.  Special Thanks to the Caring Nurses of 3E at Norfolk General, Dr. McConnell and the ParaMed staff.  A graveside service will be held at Newkirk Cemetery, St. Williams at a later date.  The JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe N3Y 3R3 in care of arrangements.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Wayne are asked to consider a charity of one’s choice.  Donations may be mailed to the Jason Smith Funeral Chapel.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
