GILBERT, Lavina Clarissa (nee Schweda) 1935-2021 – suddenly at her home in Milton on Tuesday, July 6th, 2021 in her 87th year.  Beloved wife of the late Douglas Gilbert (2014).  Loving mother of Greg Gilbert (Vicky) of Simcoe, Gord Gilbert (Tina) of Simcoe and Kelly Mellis (Chris) of Milton.  Cherished grandmother & great grandmother of Elyse Shrubb (Corey Gunn), their children Cole, Sullivan & Zoe;  Ryan Gilbert;  Katie Gilbert (Chris Armstrong), daughter Blake;  Andrea and Danielle Mellis.  Lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews & extended family.  Predeceased by her siblings Eileen Aminson, Liona Lapaire, Bernice Stock, Bill, Pete & Paul Schweda.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Lavina with her family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Tuesday, July 13th, 2021 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.  A private family service, “by invitation only” will be held with Pastor Ron Mullin officiating.  Interment of ashes: Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Lavina are asked to consider the Heart & Stroke or the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
