VOIGT, Frances Kathleen (nee Edwards) - passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 12th, 2021 at the Woodingford Lodge LTC, Ingersoll, age 91.  She was born December 29th, 1929 in South Walsingham Township.  Fran grew up in the Port Rowan area and was the only child of Kathleen (nee Winter) and Louis Edwards.  In her early years she lived at Backus Mill where her father was employed.  They then moved to Vittoria where Fran went to Public School and then took the train to Simcoe High School.  She married her public school sweetheart, Stanley Voigt, (deceased March 2019) in 1949.  They worked at Springsteads Mill in Vittoria and then went on to grow mushrooms at the Halfway Corner and then Port Ryerse.  She is survived by their only child Brian Voigt (Jo-Ann), grandson Mathias (Lacey) and two great grandchildren Claire and Michael Voigt.  She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Myrtle Smith (late Doug) and Evelyn Gundry (Doug) and predeceased by sisters-in-law Kay Jarvis and Helen Starling (late Bob).  Fran and Stan were married for 69 years and truly in love for all those years.  Now they are together again forever.  The family are very appreciative of the excellent care provided to Fran during her last year at Woodingford Lodge LTC, Ingersoll.  Due to covid restrictions, a private family visitation will be held at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe, ON  N3Y 3R3.  Private interment:  Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Fran are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Society of Oxford.  Donations may be mailed directly to the funeral home.  Personal online condolences may be posted at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
