DAVIS, Dr. Jack Samphier (1930-2021) - passed away at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Sunday, March 28th, 2021 in his 92nd year.  Beloved husband of Janet Davis (née Berscht) of Cambridge, formerly Simcoe.  Loving father of James Davis of Didsbury, AB and Patti Minakis of Cambridge.  Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Emi, Kaili, Jacki and Emily.  Brother-in-law of Ken Berscht of Calgary, AB.  Predeceased by siblings Greta Allison, Vella Hunter, Patricia Fawcett, Colleen Sparks and Robert Davis.  Lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.  Dr. Jack served in the dental corp with the United Nations in Egypt.  Following his military service, Jack returned to private practice in Simcoe for more than 50 years. He was also an active member of the Simcoe Lions Clubs and served as past president from 1972-1973.  Jack served on several committees and received the Helen Keller Award for his work with the Eyesight, Hearing and Speech committee.  He was one the driving forces behind the establishment of the Golden Lions Drum & Bugle Corps.  He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.  Due to covid restrictions, memorial arrangements will be made at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate in memory of Dr. Jack are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Society of H-N or a charity of one’s choice.  Donations may be mailed to the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe, ON  N3Y 3R3.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
