Death Notices

MISNER, Bertha Marie (nee Loewen) – passed away at the Fox Ridge Care Community on Saturday, February 27th, 2021 in her 90th year.  Beloved wife of the late Donald Misner (2015).  Loving mother of Nancy Misner of Peterborough, son Paul (Jacquie);  Peter Misner (Cindy Bartlett) of Port Dover, children Jody (Buffy Lyne) & Sarah (Pete VanPassen);  Ellen McMahon (Jim) of Bowen Island, B.C.; children Leigh Nicholls (David) & Dayna McMahon.  Cherished great grandmother of Blaire & Peter.  Lovingly remembered by her siblings Loretta Stevens (Don) of London, John Loewen (Mary) of Port Rowan, Helmut Loewen (Ann) of Rockwood and Randy Loewen (Robin) of Jordan.  Bertha will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews & extended family.  Predeceased by her parents, John (1977) and Elizabeth (1994) Loewen and by her sister-in-law Margaret Loewen.  Bertha loved to travel, enjoyed bird watching and was an accomplished painter.  A memorial service will be announced for early May.  The JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe N3Y 3R3 in care of arrangements.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Bertha are asked to consider the Long Point Bird Observatory https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/25095  We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the hard working,  compassionate staff of Fox Ridge Care Community for all their wonderful care to our Mom over the past three years.  Your kindness shall never be forgotten.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
