WELDEN, Elaine - February 21, 2021 at Norview Lodge in her 90th year.  Predeceased by second husband Walter and three of her eight children.  Mom was above all a true and natural leader.  As a life-long avid gardener and bird/animal lover she had an obvious drive to nurture and support unselfishly. This was reflected in her retirement years through Lioness and Welcome Wagon involvement.  Mom had many facets.  Her remarkable story includes obtaining a social services degree and a driving license in her 50s.  This led to a 15 year period of opening and overseeing group homes in Toronto for physically and mentally challenged children.  She will be missed by all who knew her well and forgotten by few.  Interment at Port Dover early May.  Health safety rules will determine participation details.  The JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe in care of arrangements.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
