WHEATON, Pauline (Desmarais) - surrounded by her loving family at her daughter’s home in Port Dover on Friday, June 19th, 2020 in her 79th year.  Cherished mother & grandmother of Dan Somogyi (Belinda Clarke) of Haliburton, children Daniel Nathan& Mackenzie (Rob Lindley) and Susan Wells of Port Dover, her daughter Elizabeth.  Pauline will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Jeannine Kowalsky (Ken) of Simcoe, Anita Chadwick (late Don) of Simcoe, Claudette Peever of Brantford and Marie Scrivener (John) also of Simcoe.  Pauline will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews & extended family.  Predeceased by her husband Leslie Somogyi, and by her sisters Jackie Ternowski, Germain Godlouski and Rita Bedard.  Pauline worked for many years at Cronkwright Transport in Simcoe.  In her retirement years Pauline was dedicated to helping others, and was especially passionate about children.  She was a volunteer driver for the Children’s Aid Society and Senior Support Services.  A private interment of ashes will be held at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe N3Y 3R3.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Pauline are asked to consider the Canadian Centre for Child Protection at https://www.protectchildren.ca/en/get-involved/donate/one-time-donation/.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com  (519) 426-0199
