Norah TILLER
Sunday April 12, 2020

TILLER, Norah Margaret (nee McCarroll) - with sadness we announce the passing of Norah after a brief illness at the Norfolk General Hospital (NGH), Simcoe on Sunday, April 12th, 2020 in her 88th year.  Loving mother of Wanda Tiller (John Christiansen) of Waterford and Wendy Holmes (Murray) of Simcoe.  Norah was born and raised in Scotland.  She graduated as a nurse from the Victoria Infirmary of Glasgow on February 28th, 1954. In 1957, she answered a newspaper advertisement seeking nurses to work at NGH.  She loved nursing, she loved her job.  She finished her career as Nurse Manager on 4E and retired in 1993.  She continued as a volunteer at the hospital until last June.  Norah was an avid Duplicate Bridge player and a founding member of the Simcoe Club.  She was out five times a week playing cards right up until a few weeks ago.  She was very fortunate to have good friends who would pick her up for cards.  She was a news junkie flipping between the news networks.  She also never missed Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.  Predeceased by her father and mother, Andrew and Anna McCarroll and by her sister Anne and her husband Iain McMillan.  Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Norah’s life is planned for a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe N3Y 3R3.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Norah are asked to consider the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.  Special thanks to Dr. Martin-Godelie for the excellent care she provided to Norah for many years and to the staff of 3B for your caring and kindness over the past few days.  Also, thank you to PSW, Tracey.  Personal on-line condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
