Death Notices

PRICE, M. Elizabeth (nee Locke) 1933 - 2020 – surrounded by her two daughters at the Brantford General Hospital on Saturday, March 21st, 2020 in her 87th year.  Beloved wife of the late Bill Price (2019).  Loving mother of Brenda Assel (late Larry) of Vittoria and Cheryl Oliver (Dave) of Port Dover.  Cherished grandmother & great grandmother of Stephen Assel (Vanessa), their son Finn;  David Assel;  and Chayse & Denton Oliver (Steph).  Elizabeth will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Ruby Shenkel (late Chuck) of Vermont, Edna Collins (Bill) of California, Bernice Christie (Bruce) of Tillsonburg and Hubert Locke (Marg) of Newfoundland.  Elizabeth will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews & extended family.  Predeceased by her brothers Chester (late Rene), “Bud”, Walter (late Muriel) and by Bill’s siblings, Joan Gentle (late Sam) and Jean Dickie (late Joe).  The family wish to thank the staff of Cedarwood Village, the Norfolk General – Emerg, and Brantford General – 5th Floor Surgical, especially Jen & Kaitlyn for their wonderful care & compassion during our mother’s final days.  Thank you all.  A private family service will be held at Port Dover Cemetery with Pastor Raymond Thompson officiating.  The JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe in care of arrangements.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Elizabeth are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Society of Haldimand-Norfolk.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com  (519) 426-0199
