DOUGHTY, Melvin James – promoted to the loving arms of his Lord & Saviour at the Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home, Simcoe on Sunday, January 19th, 2020 in his 85th year.  Beloved husband of Sandra Doughty (nee Crosier) of Simcoe.  Loving father of Cheryl of Langton, Ken of Gravenhurst and Scott (Rachael) of California.  Cherished grandfather & great grandfather of Joshua (Christina), children Chevy & Skye;  David (Tracy), children Andrea, Savannah & Kathleen;  Becky (Cody), children Cameron & Talen;  Rory (Sophie), son Jayson;  and Arden (Dean).  Predeceased by his sister, the late Norma Wiedrick (late Art).  Lovingly remember by his niece, nephew & extended family.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Mel with his family at the BETHEL BAPTIST CHURCH, 4059 Hwy#3 East  Simcoe on Thursday, January 23rd, 2020 from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m.  A funeral service will be held in the church sanctuary at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Al Feere officiating.  Interment:  Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Mel are asked to consider the Parkinson’s Society of Southwestern Ontario or Bethel Baptist Church, Simcoe.  Arrangements entrusted to the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe, ON  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com  (519) 426-0199
