Jean OLIVER
Monday November 04, 2019

OLIVER, F. Jean (nee Morris) 1930 - 2019 – surrounded by her loving children on Monday, November 4th, 2019 in her 90th year.  Beloved wife of the late John “Jack” Oliver (2005).  Beloved mother of Terrie Sage (Ron), Jeffery Oliver and Tracie Oliver (Michael Fitzgerald).  Proud grandmother of Caitlin and Libby Oliver, John “Jack” Fitzgerald, Ryan Sage, Ashley Davies (Tom), Lindsay Gillilan (Justin).  Special Grana to great-grandson Sam Davies.  Predeceased by her parents, the late Charles & Lucy Morris and sisters Cecily Wilson & Gail Yaschuk (nee Morris).  Lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews & extended family and the “adopted” family she collected throughout her life.  Jean was a force to be reckoned with and loved to introduce herself as “Mean Jean” although her children affectionately called her “Sargent Major”.  You never had to guess what she was thinking and those who knew and loved her best would describe her as loving, kind, generous, direct, honest, and candid leaving an indelible mark on those who had the good fortune to know her.  She was known for her indominable spirit, quick wit and a wicked sense of humour that she shared freely. Her foundation in life was her love of family and strong faith in Christ and she was a stalwart contributor to the growth of Trinity Anglican Church, Simcoe for over 3o years. Jean was happiest when there was good food on the table, good wine in the glass and those she loved sharing both with her.  In that spirit, we invite family and friends to gather in a celebration of her remarkable life at TRINITY  ANGLICAN  CHURCH, 80 Colborne St. South, Simcoe on Saturday, November 16th, 2019;  visitation will be at the church from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. followed by Holy Communion at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a cause near to Jean’s heart: Trinity Anglican Church, Simcoe;  Anglican Church of Canada Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (www.pwrdf.org); Telfer Place Long Term Care Resident Council, Paris.  Donations may be made through the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North  Simcoe  N3Y 3R3.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com  (519) 426-0199
