DOERKSEN, Aaron “Butch” (1926 - 2019) – a Dad who made it easy to imagine what God the Father is like, joined Him in heaven on Saturday February 23, 2019 in his 93rd year. Dad was kind, extremely generous, enjoyed a good laugh, was way too easy on us and loved us with a steadfast, unrelenting love. Devoted husband to the late Mary (Voth) Doerksen, loving Dad to Ed Doerksen of Long Point, John Doerksen of Simcoe and Barbara Shantz (Steve) of Saint John, New Brunswick.  Amazing “Grandpa Butchie” to Melanie Doerksen (Tim Wilson), Clint Doerksen, Aaron Shantz (Shelley), Jasmine Chandra (Terence), Joshua Doerksen (Lindsay) and Christina Doerksen (Robbie Foster).  Special “Great Grandpa Butchie” to Griffen, Clem, Samuel and Naomi. Butch will be missed by his brother, Abram Doerksen (Helen) and sister, Ella Kendall and sisters-in-law Velda Johnston, Lydia Reimer and Jessie Tyrrell as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Predeceased by sisters Mary Lodde, Lena Hamm, Peggy Hamm, Anna Doerksen, Kathleen Hiebert and brothers David and Jacob.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Butch with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at BETHEL BAPTIST CHURCH, 4059 Hwy#3 East, Simcoe on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Al Feere officiating.  Private Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate in memory of Butch are asked to consider Trans World Radio Canada.
