Ryan CATTRYSSE
Sunday June 17, 2018

CATTRYSSE, Ryan Michael (1995 - 2018) - surrounded by his loving family at Victoria Hospital, in London, on Sunday, June 17th, 2018 in his 23rd year.  Beloved and youngest son of Marc & Marianne Cattrysse of Simcoe and much-loved brother of Bradley & David Cattrysse. Ryan is survived by his grandparents, Lucien & Justine Cattrysse of Delhi and Stephen Holodinsky of Simcoe.  He was pre-deceased by his grandmother, Irene Holodinsky and his uncle, Arthur Cattrysse. Ryan enjoyed the love of a large extended family that contained numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as his many friends.  Ryan attended Holy Trinity High School, was president of the students council, student trustee for the school board, and recipient of the Titan Award.  During university, Ryan held several roles in the engineering society, including frosh week committee, director of first year students, and also worked for the university as team lead for Science Quest. Ryan interned at Trans Canada Pipeline in Calgary, prior to graduating from Queen’s University as a Chemical Engineer on May 31st, 2018.  Ryan was devoted to his family and friends, and would do everything he could to support those he loved. If you needed Ryan, he was there, with a kind word, a joke, or just a hug. Ryan had a passion for sports, and during his young life played hockey, soccer, basketball, football and rugby, and was a soccer and hockey referee.  Ryan loved being a member of a team, whether it was sports, volunteer work, or extra-curricular activities.  He was quick to put his hand up and volunteer for anything and everything. He never wanted to miss an opportunity to try something new.  He enjoyed travelling with his family, and with his friends.  His sense of humor, quirky wit, and zest for life will be deeply missed by everyone he touched.  Friends are invited to celebrate Ryan’s life and share their memories of Ryan with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Wednesday, June 20th, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  Parish prayers will be held at 6:45 p.m.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 211 Union St. Simcoe on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Al Dufraimont as celebrant.  Interment:  St. Mary’s Cemetery, Simcoe.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Ryan are asked to consider the St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Mary’s Parish (Soup Kitchen) where Ryan volunteered along with his grandfather.
