ATKINSON, Irene (nee Spulnick) - surrounded by her loving family at the Stedman Hospice, Brantford on Tuesday, March 6th, 2018 in her 82nd year.  Beloved wife of Carl Atkinson of Vittoria.  Cherished mother of Debbie Brady of Lyons, Diane Meade (Larry) of Princeton, Carl Atkinson (Ronda) of St. Williams, Ed Atkinson (Vivian Devellano) of Port Dover and the late Karen Atkinson (1979).  Loving grandmother & great grandmother of Jodi Leger, children Raymond & Abby;  Jennifer Donner (Mark), children Sydney & Georgia;  Jeff Meade (Bonnie), children Van, Andie & Riley;  Niki Lavoie (Jamie), children Chloe & Kase;  Stephanie Meade (Stewart Acott), son Jackson;  Mark Meade;  Jason Atkinson (Heather);  Matthew Atkinson (Ashley Ryan), daughter Callie;  Donavan (fiancé Beth Douwes), children Ava & Emma;  and Daina (Catlin Charles).  Irene will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Pat Rosenburg (late John) of Breslau and Lorraine Lowe (Bill) of Kitchener.  She is also survived by several nieces, nephews & extended family.  Irene was a long time member of the Vittoria Eastern Star, Women’s Institute, Rebekah’s, Women’s Auxillary and Vittoria Baptist Church.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Irene with her family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Thursday, March 8th, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.  A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Marc Bertrand officiating.  Interment:  Walsh United Cemetery.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Irene are asked to consider the Stedman Community Hospice.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com  (519) 426-0199
