FERKET, Werner Albert  (1928 -  2017) - passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 7th, 2017 in his 90th year.  Cherished husband of Madeleine Ferket (nee Bacro) of Simcoe.  Loving father & grandfather of Larry Ferket (Mary Jean) of Port Dover, their children Leah Azzopardi (Brian), Stephanie Calvino (Steve) and Alexandra Wright (Peter);  Linda Ferket of Simcoe;  and Brenda Godelie (Randy) of Courtland, their sons Kyle (Sarah) & Kevin.  Werner will be lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews & extended family.  He passed just weeks prior to the birth of his first great granddaughter.  Predeceased by his parents, the late August & Justina Ferket and by his brother George Ferket (late Georgette).  Friends are invited to share their memories of Werner with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Friday, June 9th, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Parish prayers will be said Friday evening at 5:45 p.m.  A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Andy Alway officiating.  Interment:  Delhi Cemetery.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Werner are asked to consider the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society of Haldimand-Norfolk.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
