SMITHSON, Thelma Ruth (nee Ferris) 1935 - 2016 – surrounded by her loving family at her home on Tuesday, December 6th, 2016 in her 82nd year.  Loving mother of Christine Mudford of Simcoe, the late Michael Smithson (2008), his wife Rosanne of Port Dover and Steven Smithson (Randy Barber) of Simcoe.  Cherished grandmother & great grandmother of Tammy Smithson (Larry), children Kyle, Payton & Madison;  Cody Mudford;  and Shannon Smithson (David), children Delaney & Danika.  Thelma will be lovingly remembered by her sister-in-laws Colleen Ferris of Hensall, Helen Ferris of B.C. and by several nieces, nephews and extended family.  Predeceased by siblings Audrey Ferris, Florence Wilson, Elwin & Irvin Ferris.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Thelma with her family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Thursday, December 8th, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.  Thelma’s funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. with LPM Erna Hibbs officiating.  Interment:  Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe.  Those wishing to donate in memory of Thelma are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Society of Haldimand-Norfolk.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com  (519) 426-0199
