BUCHWALD, Rev. John Henry (1936 - 2016) – promoted to the arms of his Lord & Saviour and surrounded by his loving family, at his home on Sunday, September 4th, 2016 in his 81st year.  Beloved husband of 56+ years to Sylvia Buchwald (nee Gillmore) of Boston.  Cherished father & grandfather of Bradley Buchwald (Darlene) of Bealton, their children Benjamin, Adam & Zachary;  Bonnie Kozicki (Mark) of Boston, their children Joseph & Jonathan;  Brent Buchwald (Kara) of Boston, their children Mac & Josh;  and Brian Buchwald (Vicki) of Waterford, their daughter Kalista.  John will be lovingly remembered by his siblings Esther Scheel (late Versal) of Arnprior, Elizabeth Kuehl (Warren) of Simcoe, Manfred Buchwald (late Esther) of Killaloe and Herman Buchwald (Beaulah) of Oshawa.  Sadly missed by several nieces, nephews & extended family.  Predeceased by his sister Martha Hartwick (late Ivan).  John was the Pastor of Hartford Baptist Church for more than 50 years.  Friends are invited to share their memories of John with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Thursday, September 8th, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  A private home going service will be held on Friday afternoon with Pastors Nathan Randall & Robert Snell officiating.  Interment:  Hartford Baptist Cemetery.  A public memorial service will be held at the Townsend Community Church, 85 Nanticoke Creek Parkway, Townsend on Saturday, September 10th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Nathan Randall & Dr. Larry & Donna Johnson officiating.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate in memory of John are asked to consider the Hartford Baptist Church.  Personal online condolences at www.smithfuneralchapel.com (519) 426-0199
