Julia SAKATCH

SAKATCH, Julia Florence (nee Currie) 1922 - 2014 – surrounded by her loving family at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Saturday, November 22nd, 2014 in her 93rd year.  Beloved wife of the late Robert “Bud” Patient (1958) & Michael Sakatch (1996).  Julia will be lovingly remembered by Michael’s children, Pat Chaban of Brantford, Faith Vigon (Martin) of Vittoria, Adele Hudson (late Bill) of Simcoe and Beth Ardiel (Bob) of Normandale.  Julia will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews Jim (Linda), Michael (Judy), Julia (Brad), Joan (Scott), Jean (Pat), Sam (Karen), Tom (Lynn);  by many grand nieces & nephews;  and by her very special friends Donna & Harold Bowers.  Predeceased by siblings Marilyn Coss, Stewart, Cyril & Robert Currie.  Julia was born in Fort Louisburg, Nova Scotia and spent her childhood in the East, settling in Galt, Ontario.  Surrounded by her family, she lived and worked, finally retiring with Michael in Sauble Beach and later moving to Simcoe.  Julia was an avid golfer and enjoyed the Galt Country Club in her younger years, continuing that love and passion with Michael.  She also travelled extensively throughout North America and Europe with family and close friends, finishing in September with her life long dream cruise of the Mediterranean.  Julia was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Delhi Chapter No. 226 and appreciated fraternal membership.  Many thanks are extended to the 3rd floor nursing staff at the Norfolk General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care, several of whom also cared for Michael.  Friends are invited to share their memories of Julia with her family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Wednesday, November 26th, 2014 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.  A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
